Pak Identity: Hate India, Love Islam

Zaid Hamid – infamous mouthpiece of the Pak Military Establishment – illustrates Pakistan’s perennial identity crisis by eulogizing Islam and demonizing India. He makes no mention of the fact that – unlike Pakistan – India is a stable representative democracy, has a secular governance structure, practices rule of law, and boasts a multi-religious social fabric. Nor does he point out that almost as many Muslims live in India as in Pakistan and that Muslims are represented in all echelons of Indian society and government. This interview was recorded in 2008.
